A new feature has been added to the front page of the Understanding Dairy Markets website. Now on the front page is a clickable item that provides a quick look at the status of the U.S. dairy industry. The spreadsheet accessed by clicking the associated icon contains a thumbnail sketch of cash and futures markets. The information contained within the various worksheets is updated weekly. The four worksheets contained in this file are devoted to: (i) Dairy Cash Markets, (ii) Dairy Futures Markets, (iii) Corn and Soybean Futures Markets and (iv) projected MILC Payments.

A Web-Based Livestock Gross Margin for Dairy Premium Cacluator is Available

The University of Wisconsin has developed a web-based premium calculator to estimate LGM-Dairy premiums for upcoming LGM insurance contracts. This premium calculator can be found by clicking here. For an overview of the LGM-Dairy insurance program refer to the LGM-Dairy section of this website.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has released the November values of the dairy-related Consumer Price Indexes, Producer Price Indexes and Retail prices. These are now available from our database.
2009 Release Dates for FMMO Advance and Announced Prices Now Available

Organic Milk Retail Price Data Available

Average city-specific retail prices of reduced fat and whole organic milk is now available on the website. This data is obtained from the Dairy Division of the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service.
Data for November LGM-Dairy System Available
