The Announced May Class I Mover was announced today to be $10.97. This represents a $0.61 increase from April, ‘09 and a $5.65 drop from the May ‘08 level.

The Federal Order and California January mailbox prices were released today. The January Wisconsin mailbox prices was $12.94, a drop of $7.85 from the January 2008 level of $20.79. The January average Federal Order mailbox price for January is $13.77 and the CA price was $10.57 .

In today’s trading, Class III futures settle prices for the MAY-JUL09 contracts decreased 35¢. The AUG09-MAR10 Class III futures lost and average 20¢.

The CA March 4b milk price is $10.45 . This represents a $0.34 increase over the Feb. value and a $6.54 decrease from March 2008.

The Announced Class III price was announced this morning to be $10.44. This represents a $1.13 increase from February’s level but a $7.56 decline from the March 2008 value of $18.00.

The March Advanced Class I price was announced today. The March value of $9.43 is $1.29 less than the Feb. value and $7.27 less than March ‘08 .

The Jan. All Milk-16% Dairy Ration Price ratio decreased to 1.69 from a Dec. 08 value of 1.92. The Jan ‘08 value was 2.65. The Jan. All-Milk Price fell to $13.80 in Jan., a drop of $1.80 from the Dec. ‘08 level. The cost of a 16% Dairy ration for Jan. was $8.16. This was virtually the same to the $8.14 value for Dec. ‘08.

The Jan. ‘09 Announced Class III price is $10.78. This represents a $$4.50 drop from Dec. ‘08 and a $8.57 drop from Jan. ‘08. The Jan. ‘09 Announced Class IV price is $9.59. This represents a drop of $0.76 from the Dec. ‘08 value.

The Feb. Class I mover was announced as $10.72, a drop of $5.02 from Jan. ‘09 and $8.96 from Feb. ‘08. This represents the lowest Class I mover since June 2003. This level of mover will generate a minimum of a $1.34 February MILC payment. The payment will probably be higher given the feed-cost adjustment that will be made to the MILC price target. The final MILC payment level will not be known until the end of March when the final feed prices used in the MILC payment calculations are known.

The California Feb. Class I Price drops more than $6.00 from the January levels. The Southern CA Class I price for Feb. was announced to be $11.55, a drop from $17.69 in January. The Feb. 2008 level was $21.71. This is the lowest Class I price since 1995 when the current pricing system was established.
