CME Butter price up $0.10 the Last Two Days

After last week’s dramatic decline, the butter market has experienced a mini-rebound increasing $0.10 for the 1st two days of trading this week.
Big Drop in Spot Cheese and Butter Prices Today

Today is a record day at the CME spot market. Cheddar block prices dropped $0.18 to end the data at $1.5750. Barrels dropped $0.2250 to end the day at $1.5225. Spot butter prices dropped $0.06 to end the day at $1.1300 .
Nov. Class III is $15.51 and Class IV is $12.25

The Nov. Class III price was announced today to be $15.51. and Class IV was announced at $12.25. The Class III price represents a $1.55 drop from October and a $3.71 decline from Nov. 2007.
2009 Class III Futures Average $14.35

After yesterday’s futures trading there were some dramatic decreases in 2009 Class III futures. April and May 2009 futures closed @ 13.64 and $13.68 respectively.
The Spot Butter Price Continues Its Decline

The CME spot butter price fell another $0.03 yesterday. Current spot butter and powder prices yield a Class IV of about $10.65.
The November California 4b price is $15.14

The November California 4b price is $15.14, a decrease of $1.49 from October and $3.44 from Dec. 2007. This is the lowest price since March 2007. The California 4a price is $12.20, down $1.34 from October.  This is the lowest price since January 2007.

The Dec. Advanced Class I prices is $15.43

The Dec. Advanced Class I price is $15.43. This represents a $1.90 decrease from the Nov. level and a $6.02 decrease from Nov. 2007.
California Dec. Class I Prices Show Significant Decreases

The base December California Class I price for Northern California is $16.57. This represents a $2.15 decline from November and a $6.39 decrease from December 2007.
NASS NFDM Weekly Average Price is $0.8565

The release of this morning’s NASS Dairy Product Price Report shows that the average NFDM price for the week ending Nov. 8th was $0.8565. The previous week, the average price was $0.9096.
