CME Block Prices Drop Below $2.00

The spot CME Block Cheddar price decreased $0.06 yesterday to a final settle prices of $1.9800 . This is the first time this price has been less than $2.00 since May 9th
The Overall May CPI for Dairy Products is Up 10.9% from 2007

The May CPI for the overall Dairy Products category is 207.8, a 10.9% increase over May, ‘07. For the All Fresh Milk category, the CPI was 146.9, a 10.2% increase from May ‘07. For the Cheese and Related category, the May CPI was 209.9 which represents a 14.1% increase from the 2007 value.

Nass Cheddar Cheese Price for the Week of June 7th Averaged $2.16

Cheddar Cheese prices received for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $2.16 per pound for the week ending June 7. The price per pound increased 9.1 cents from the previous week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $2.22 per pound, up 7.8 cents from the previous week.
CME Spot Butter Increases to its Highest Level Since July '07

CME spot butter prices jumped 3ยข this morning to $1.5125, the highest price since last July. As a result, butter futures increased in the front 6 months.
California May 4b Price Increases to $18.66

The California 4b price for May increases to$18.66. This is an $1.87 increase over the April value of $16.79. The May 4a price increased to $15.19 from the April value of $14.31.
Milk Feed Price Ratio Continues Its Decline

The May Milk-Feed price ratio was a record-low 1.83, down from 1.89 in April. The ratio has fallen eight straight months since registering 3.18 last September.
May Milk Price Higher Than '07 as are Feed Costs

According to last Friday’s Agricultural Prices report, the U.S. May
All-Milk price was $18.20, $0.20 higher than May ‘07 .
May feed costs were all much higher than May ‘07: Corn - $5.12, Soybeans - $12.30, Alfalfa Hay - $177/ton .
May Class III Price Increases to $18.18

The May 2008 Class III price was announced today to be $18.18 which represents a $1.42 increase from the April value. The May ‘07 value was $17.60.
June Advanced Class I Price is $18.18

The Advanced Class I price for June is $18.18 . This represents and increase of $1.56 from May’s level and a $0.34 increase from June ‘07.
