Due to the July 4th holiday, the June
Announced Class III and
IV prices were announced today (instead of tomorrow). The June Class III price is $9.97. This compares to a May value fo $9.84 and a June 2008 value of $20.25.

This morning the
weekly average NASS dry whey price was 26.39 cents, the first time this average price exceeded 26 cents since the end of July 2008. The minimum average price for the year was 15.35 cents obtained in February.

With the close of business today, the July - Sept. ‘09 futures settle prices closed at contract lows. As late as March 27, 2009 the
Sept. ‘09 Class III contract settled at more than $16.00 .

The
May Class III price was announced on Friday to be $9.84. This compares to $10.78 in April and $18.18 in May 2008.

The
California May 4b price is $9.54, a decrease of $0.87 from the April value. This compares to a May 2008 value of $18.66. The May Class III price is likely to be approximately $9.83 .

With the release of the May Agricultural Prices report today, the final April grain and hay costs used in the MILC feed cost adjuster are available. The resulting
April MILC payment will be $1.59. Using the preliminary feed cost values for May, we estimate that the May MILC payment will be $1.52 .

The advance
Class I mover was announced this morning to be $10.08. This represents an $0.89 drop from May ‘09 and a $8.10 drop from the June ‘08 level.

The settle prices at the end of business on May 6th represent
double digit declines for Class III futures contracts for the months of July ‘09 - Mar ‘10. The May ‘09 futures settled at a new contract low.

At the end of business yesterday (May 6th) the CME spot price for
cheddar barrels were 4¢ below support price.
Cheddar blocks are at their lowest level since January.

This morning, the USDA released the
Announced April Class III price with a
value of $10.78. This is a $0.34 increase over the March value. The
April 2008 value was $16.76.
