Cheese Production Jumped 4.7% In July

US cheese production during July totaled 882.3 mil. lbs., up 4.7% from July 2009, USDA’s, NASS reported Thursday.

Cheese production during the first seven months of 2010 totaled 6.013 bil. lbs, up 2.8%t from the first 7 months of 2009. Cheese production in the two leading states moved in opposite directions during July. WI’s July cheese output totaled 221.7 mil. lbs, down 0.6% from July 2009. In contrast, CA’s July cheese production, at 188.4 million pounds, was up 12.8 percent from July 2009.
