The CCC Purchases Butter Under the Dairy Support Program

Three loads of butter were sold to the government on Jan. 7th for $1.05 under the support program. A total of 121,694 lbs. from the western region were sold to the CCC, the first support-program purchases since the Spring of 2003. &bnsp; From February-June 2003, 11.3 million lbs. of butter was sold to CCC. At that time it had been 8 years since the CCC had purchased butter. In addition as of January 7th more than 123 million lbs of NFDM has been sold to the CCC.
