Milk Production is Forecast to Increase 2.7% in 2008

According to the latest Livestock, Dairy and Poultry Outlook report, milk production is forecast to increase 2.7% in 2008 over 2007 levels. Cow numbers are forecast to increase by 1%. Lower Milk-Feed price ratios are expected in 2008 and these lower returns may indicate a reduction in the dairy herd by late 2008.
