Dry whey futures dropped significantly on Thursday after USDA’s Dairy Market News reported a much weaker whey market. The April 2008 futures contract settled at $0.2925. In the Midwest, dry whey is trading in a range of mostly 31¢-43.25¢, down from 42-44.5¢ a week ago. The midpoint of the range is the lowest it’s been since Sept. 2006
